Faux pas!

Breaking news!! McGain out of the race.. and before I knew it my adrenaline was rushing ahead, not that I was allowed to vote in the American elections, but its still a news. Did senator McCain just give up?? What happened? The war veteran who captured our attention with the nomination of Sarah Palin or should we call it the “Sarah Palin effect”. But why suddenly? Has Obama finally driven McCain to “change” his mind about everything. Or did Jay Leno’s jibes hurt the poor old McCain? Oh common we all know Jay Leno, he is just joking. A hundred thousand reasons, questions were popping in and out  as I was trying to make sense of the whole thing. Then I paid attention to the news again and I read the news flash ..it said McGain?! Now you really can’t misspell something that famous. Oh! Oops..it was referring to Australian cricketer Bryce McGain who was not going to play in the upcoming test match. Now thank god! My lips are sealed. And something needs to be done about classifying everything as breaking news. Please!

“When a man tells you that he got rich through hard work, ask him: 'Whose?” witty, but when the term hard work is mentioned I really can’t think of anybody but this lady who has done house hold chores for as long as I can remember. Her name is Rose, she did have a fair share of thorns like the flower her name depicts. She is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen, for her determination is of a rare breed. She has fought every battle in her life valiantly, I don’t know if she ever enjoyed support, love, comfort or anything good in life. She just works hard right from 5 am to 5 pm. Hard work can be the best medicine to life’s many complications simply because we as individuals forget what will come after us, all we are ready for is the next battle. Personalities like her can be easily forgotten. Most of us fail to absorb more than the surface level. That is one quality most humans should add to their long list of “incapabilities”. No offense we just have to stop branding most things as trivial. For the most important lessons in life can be learnt anywhere.

Is human rights a farce?

Situation 1:A woman has been placed under house arrest for decades. She has been fighting for democracy and the liberation of her countrymen for decades. Her struggle has all the chances of going in vain as nobody really cares about her struggle or the rights of the people belonging to that country.

Situation 2: This mighty country has engulfed their “not so mighty” neighbors. They carry on their power strike as the weaker nation refuses to succumb to their pressure. The irony is that the other nations have already succumbed to this mighty nation establishing their weakness which crumbles under the power of this so called mighty nation.

Situation 1 refers to Myanmar(Burma) and the woman is none other than Aung San Su Kyi herself. Situation 2 refers to the proud Olympic host China. The intensity of this human rights violation is very clear when we analyze the quote by a girl who is a citizen of Tibet. “When no one can see the cruelty of the Chinese, what is the use of the media? When no one has the heart to help Tibet, what is the use of sympathy?”

The UN has hardly said a word regarding these human rights violations, when authorities stop reacting and become immunized against violations one really wonders about the way of this world. MIGHT IS RIGHT has become the propaganda. Alas the spine is a very effective part of the human body but only some use it well, its always tough to make use of your spine, stand up and say that’s wrong. It takes some nerve to do just that.

CRAZYY CAT!

Have you ever sat on the edge of a chair for three agonizingly long hours(oh! don't be silly and say yeah i did so for the Wimbledon finals. I am talking about a bigger perspective. A situation where most of us don't feel anything below the neck(ouch! that spine which i forgot) of course this situation can't afford the lack of usage of your head!Still wondering what I am talking about? it is the CAT fever and all the mock exams which go with that. If there is one exam where the students don't mind the academic harassment, it should be this exam. i can feel the passion and of course the bigger frame of profit which is at your reach one's you clear the cut-off which is somewhere between the canopy of stars(an overly ambitious 99.9 percentile...PHEW!) But this exam tests everything for sinister-rish aura is all around this paper. Set by people who have decided to test your patience and you "actual" capacity this is precisely the equation: Ambiguous questions+ Ambiguous answer choices+ Evil play of words = CAT!! muhahahaha... This exam has got everything and i love it for that! So hey you want to test your grey matter why don't you take a mock CAT.. Don't even dare to dream that you will be the smart "jerry" to top this "tom"! Possible but hmm!
